ORGANIC, RURAL & RAW

A quirky, historic property within a small farming village in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

A challenging project with regards to space planning as nooks & crannies, beams, low ceilings and an unusual layout required forward thinking and creative solutions. A bespoke bookcase was designed to house a formerly overwhelming number of books in a way that was contemporary and space efficient.

The family had both British and South African heritage, a thread woven through the design alongside nods to the exceptionally beautiful rural surroundings and traditional and layered architectural features of the house. Using visually interesting antique and handmade objects and artworks, we built on these layers to weave the family's own story into the house's rich history.
