Sourcebook Spotlight: Broste Copenhagen

Established in 1955, Copenhagen interiors giant Broste Copenhagen is one of my favourite sources when it comes to contemporary Scandi homewares and furnishings. Like many of my favourite brands, their designers tend to take their inspiration from nature and the world around them- particularly world travel.

The Broste way of life effortlessly balances its authentic Nordic roots whilst still being contemporary and trend savvy.

They describe their most recent collection for SS2019 where 'memories or endless summers are evoked' and there is a celebration of 'strong colours, clever shapes and the infinite beauty of sunlight'. I have to say this collection is a little more modern than the Broste I first discovered but their innovation and ability to adapt means there are some really exciting and unusual products here (check out the vases that look like sea urchins!).

My favourite collections ever have to be their Nordic Sand and Nordic Sea range of dinnerware- I used to go to Selfridges on Oxford Street just to look at it. The colours and imperfections are so beautiful, I couldn't resist both for myself- they look great when you mix them too.

Whatever your tase, i'm pretty sure Broste Copenhagen will have something you will love. It's one of those brands you could go to when you're panicking about a last minute birthday present. It's cool, timeless and lets face it, who doesn't love a bit of Scandi!
